THE STORY BEHIND THE KITS: from conception to sold out in a week!
On Friday, February 5th I was starting my weekly tray of microgreens plus one to share with friends at an upcoming Women’s Wellness retreat, and it hit me. I don’t want to just share these delicious greens and send people on their way to be overwhelmed like I was about even getting started. I wanted to literally put the tools in their hands so they could go home after the retreat and plant their first batch.
With this idea in my head, I couldn’t sleep and by 4 am I had found all the perfect supplies for a small, reusable, giftable starter kit with everything needed for two harvests. I then spent the whole weekend designing labels and literature and obsessing over every single detail.
By Monday I had 50 kits assembled and ready to go! I only needed 20 for the retreat, so I listed the extras on a few local Facebook groups, and sold out within 24 hours.
I then turned around and ordered enough supplies to make 600 kits (for now) and am looking forward to selling them locally in the St. Louis area and online throughout the USA.

SIX KIT COMBOS TO CHOOSE FROM:
I recommend starting with the Broccoli & Salad Mix Kit. This is the easiest to grow for your first experience.
Next try the Pea & Sunflower Kit, which has an extra step of soaking the seeds before planting. Together these two kits expose you to the main methods you’ll need when growing a wide variety of microgreens.
The Arugula & Radish Kit delivers bold, spicy flavors and is also incredibly easy to grow.
For the pets in your house, the Wheatgrass Kit is a must - a simple-to-grow microgreen that is beneficial for cats and dogs. They last up to six weeks, and your kit comes with two packets of wheatgrass so you’ll have a long supply to keep your pet happy.
The Beet & Swiss Chard Kit is a showstopper with its bright red stems. Not only are they delicious, but they are stunning on any dish. Swiss Chard is easy and quick. Beet has a long germination-to-harvest window (2-3 weeks) but is well worth the wait!
When you’re up for a challenge, grab yourself the Basil and Parsley Kit! Microgreen herbs deliver supreme flavor and absolute delicacy! These both have long germination and harvest windows, but you’ll find the process simple. Basil is particularly fascinating to grow as it is “mucilaginous”. During germination, they will form a gelatinous substance called “mucilage” which coats the seeds and keeps them moist until they mature.
